I have never hired a handyman or contractor before and don’t know what to expect:

One thing to expect is professionalism. We don’t especially care for the term Handyman. There is a misguided perception that a Handyman is just some random guy that isn’t good enough to commit to one solitary trade and become a master of that discipline. 

There is also the perception that Handymen just put band-aids on repairs and provide cheap labor. While in some cases this can be true, it is not the norm in 2022. That is exactly why we are Craftsmen. Doing things the right way provides value.

In reality, we have to possess deep knowledge about a variety of trades, processes and standards, even if they are services we don’t provide. We have spent decades learning building codes, perfecting our craft from personal hands-on experience and constantly striving for continuous improvement.

When you hire a professional for home repair services, we are bringing much to the table than just solutions to a problem. We are bringing a fully mobile workshop of tools to your home, we bring the wealth of our hard earned knowledge and advocate best practices for optimal results and we are providing customer service and project management.

Another driving factor behind what it costs to hire home repair experts is operational. Running a reputable contracting outfit comes with overhead, there is continuing education, training, certification, state licensing, carrying the appropriate insurance and offering the commensurate financial compensation for qualified technicians that pass certified background checks.

While home improvement shows on TV may have you believe that renovations, remodels and repairs are as easy as waving a magic wand and cost only a small pittance, that is far from the truth. 

Even the smallest maintenance, repair projects, and installations can add up to hours of work. Typically most projects require at least 4 hours of work that includes set up, labor to perform tasks, acquire the correct materials and clean up. Other times projects can be a full day’s worth of labor. Sometimes projects range from a few days to a few weeks. 

On average you can expect to pay anywhere from $400 to $1200 for day services depending on complexity and materials. Custom projects can range from $2500+
